Pepe Deluxé: ‘In the Cave - Pepe Deluxé plays The Great Stalacpipe Organ’ (2011)

Press release notes from Pepe Deluxé:

Music group Pepe Deluxé unleashes the largest instrument in the world.

“In February 2011, The Great Stalacpipe Organ, located in Luray Caverns, Virginia, USA, finally met its equal. Respecting the unbelievable magnitude and uniqueness of this subterranean instrument, Pepe Deluxé became the first ever humans to compose and record a tune for it.

The title of the tune is ‘In the Cave’, and it was performed by the writer, Pepe Deluxé’s Paul Malmström, himself. The composition is part of Pepe’s upcoming fourth album, an esoteric pop opera called Queen of the Wave, based on the legendary book A Dweller on Two Planets.

Watch the video and enjoy the sounds of the rubber mallets hitting the ancient hand-tuned stalactites, giving the song its inexplicable beauty and otherworldly mood.

Pepe Deluxé are James Spectrum - Baron of Sealand and Paul Malmström - an explorer of worlds both known and unknown. The NY-based film company Pale Blue Pictures (http://www.palebluepictures.com/) is currently working on a documentary about The Stalacpipe Organ and the recording.”
