Zodiac: ‘Zodiac’ (1980)
In the late 1970s in the students’ club of the State Conservatory of Latvia (then still a part of USSR) Janis Lusens launched a rock-group called Zodiac (Zodiak, Russian: Зодиа́к, Latvian: Zodiaks), almost exclusively concentrating upon studio work. Disco Alliance was their first record in 1980 and turned out to be a block-buster on the Soviet stage. The band was extremely popular in the USSR and has been credited by critics as the Soviet answer to the French band Space who were popular at the time. (Source: YouTube, Discogs)

Matti Bergström (1938 - 1994) was a Finnish composer, musician and arranger. From the mid-1970s onwards they worked also on music for ballets, collaborating among all with choreographer Jorma Uotinen. After Matti Bergström’s death in 1994 Pirjo Bergström continued working both as a composer and performer. She had singing roles for the musicals Cats and Sound of Music, and also on the popular TV comedy Velipuolikuu (1983 - 1984). She died after a stroke on 15 May 2011.
