“The name New York City Survivors was born in 2001 (before the World Trade Center tragedy) when a very strange man suddenly asked Irwin [Berg] if he was playing in the group “New York City Survivors”? Irwin told Kimmo [Rapatti a.k.a. Mono Junk] the story the next day and he instantly realized that this must be the name for their joint project. They still do not know from where the strange man came from and why he came up with such a title. Coincidentally they had a gig in New York later that same year just before the World Trade Center tragedy…”
