The dreamy Finnish electro-pop duo get remixed on Tiga’s Turbo label. The piano-led ‘Running On’ is drowned in dynamic thumping electro by Kebacid (Jesper Dahlbäck & Jori Hulkkonen), whilst Hulkkonen takes on the italo-esque ‘All The Days’ and imbues it with soaring synth deepness. Awe-some.

“Taking over Helsinki’s Suvilahti this weekend of August 13–15, Flow Festival brings together a diverse selection of international and Finnish acts. Ranging from electronic music, indie rock and jazz to world music, the event will be held as part of the Helsinki Festival. This year, the artist selection brings together the likes of M.I.A., French duo Air planning an audiovisual spectacle, the Icelandic vocalist Jónsi (Sigur Rós), and British acts like The XX, indie popstress Marina And The Diamonds, to electronic producer Four Tet, and the classic The Radio Dept. The new wave of lo-fi indie rock from the US such as The Drums, Beach House, Surfer Blood, Sleigh Bells and Girls perform alongisde the likes of Syrian vocalist Omar Souleyman whilst techno and house sounds will come from Ricardo Villalobos, disco legend DJ Harvey, Diplo performing a DJ set and also as part of his Major Lazer project with Switch, Rye Rye, and dubstep from Joker. AFTER THEIR fantastic shows in May and a forest’s worth of glowing reviews for their debut album ‘Origin’, we’re totally thrilled to welcome back Finnish synth sensations VILLA NAH to London for a special one-off show at The Drop in Stoke Newington. Anyone who caught them live knows they’re not to be missed.
En route from Helsinki to Lisbon to perform as part of Planet Turbo’s rolling revue alongside Aeroplane, Tiga and Gonzales, Tomi and Juho’s stay-over in the capital coincides with the release of their lush remix of ‘Tell Me’ by Au Revoir Simone on Keys of Life, which you can listen to here: http://www.sahkorecordings.com/LIFE-21/
At the time of writing, Villa Nah’s ‘Running On’ is number 11 in Hype Machine’s ‘Most Popular’ chart, just behind Eminem. This is good, right?
Support on the night comes from one or two special guests as well as Cocadisco DJs. Also, this is the first ever Wednesday-night Cocadisco in seven years, so that alone is surely something worth celebrating. See you there.
