“A 1995 documentary directed by John Akomfrah discussing all things Afrofuturistic. Features interviews with George Clinton, Derrick May, Kodwo Eshun, Stephen R. Delany, Nichelle Nichols, Juan Atkins, DJ Spooky, Goldie and many others. The film makes mention to Sun Ra, whose work centers around the return of blacks to outer space in his own Mothership. This is just a brief section of the documentary. An introduction so to speak.”

A Guy Called Gerald LIVE Manchester 29th Jan 2010

This is not a DJ set - it’s a live jam session of A Guy Called Gerald original music NO LOOPS using Reason X 2 incorporating acapellas. Recorded at The Deaf Institute in Manchester at The Red Bull Music Academy.
I wanted to prove that you can switch from techno into jungle live using reason… some people like it, some people hate it when I do this…. I started doing Jungle in 1991 - does anyone remember how cheesy techno got in 1991? This is WHY we created Jungle. Techno and house basically sold out… The only reason I came back to doing techno was because there were friends of mine pleading for me to do it…people who enjoyed the stuff I was doing in the late 80s. So if anyone has any kind of beef with anything to do with jungle let me remind you about your 90’s times with your dummy in your mouth and your Vicks vapour rub!
Raw to the core.
