In 1992 we were wondering which name we should give to our little kitty. Then this track started playing.

Matti & Pirjo Bergström: ‘Virkamiehet’ (“Bureaucrats”, 1980)

Originally released on the album The Forgotten Horizon (Kompass KOLP 29, 1980): music from choreograph Jorma Uotinen’s dance production of the same name.

Matti Bergström (1938 - 1994) was a Finnish composer, musician and arranger. Together with his wife Pirjo Bergström (1939 - 2011) — who was also a musician, composer, arranger, singer and actress — they collaborated on their own music and also on the albums of other Finnish artists, such as Cumulus, Hector, Paula Koivuniemi and Tuulikki Eloranta; furthermore, running their own music studio. From the mid-1970s onwards they worked also on music for ballets, collaborating among all with choreographer Jorma Uotinen. After Matti Bergström’s death in 1994 Pirjo Bergström continued working both as a composer and performer. She had singing roles for the musicals Cats and Sound of Music, and also on the popular TV comedy Velipuolikuu (1983 - 1984). She died after a stroke on 15 May 2011.

One of the greatest actresses and most beautiful women to ever grace the silver screen. Today is a very sad day. Try to watch one of her movies today. The great thing about loving classic Hollywood is that it constantly reminds us of the immortality of film and art in general.  Elizabeth still lives through her wonderful films and performances.
